Leaving a Legacy

Learn more about the AHIMA Foundation's Planned Giving program by visiting www.legacy-ahimafoundation.org, to explore the benefits of gift planning and utilize tools that can help with planning your legacy gift.

The AHIMA Foundation can help you achieve your financial and estate plans by providing giving opportunities that will fulfill your current and future needs. Planned gifts offer benefits through tax deductions and/or the reduction of estate taxes. You may elect to bequeath a percentage of your estate or a specific cash amount. Gifts of retirement plan assets are a tax-wise manner to leave a meaningful legacy to the Foundation for the advancement of the HIM profession.

We encourage donors to take advantage of the current opportunity to direct a portion of their IRA to the AHIMA Foundation. The Pension Protection Act of 2006, which has been extended through the end of 2009, allows individuals who have reached 70.5 years to direct up to $100,000 of their IRA account to a qualified charity.

The AHIMA Foundation's Legacy Society honors all donors who designate a planned gift to the Foundation through a will, life insurance, retirement plan, trust or annuity.

To discuss making a Planned Gift or to take advantage of an IRA Charitable contribution, please contact contact Bonnie Aguda, (312) 233-1175 or bonnie.aguda@ahimafoundation.org.

Legacy Society

The AHIMA Foundation's Legacy Society recognizes those individuals who have chosen to go beyond annual giving and make provisions for the Foundation through planned giving. Planned gifts to the Foundation are made through one of following options: a bequest established through a will; life insurance or retirement plan; or the establishment of a trust or annuity plan.

The AHIMA Foundation is grateful to our Legacy Society members for their generosity in supporting the HIM profession in perpetuity.
